CREW leads to Monteagle Lane Clean-Up
YATELEY Police, Hart’s Community Payback team and members of the Yateley community are to join together on Sunday to remove a large amount of fly tipped material from Monteagle Lane.
The clean-up on Sunday (November 29) will be the culmination of this week’s already highly successful Crime Reduction and Environment Week.
The theme of the week is road safety as it coincides with National Road Safety Week. Hart vice-chairman and Yateley member Cllr Colin Ive, who is chairman of Hart Road Safety Council, spearheaded the road safety activities to include leaflets for schools and advice to licensees on drink driving.
Other activities included a safety talk to Yateley Sixth Form by the fire service and a surgery at which the public could talk to fire, police and community safety representatives.
Katherine Jackson-Challen, aged seven, won the CREW poster competition and received a £10 gift card.
Cllr Nippy Singh, Hart’s Cabinet Member for People and Partnerships, said: “It’s great to see local agencies working together with t he local community to clean up what has become quite an eyesore.”
