Youth Café Set to Stay

A NEW youth café in Fleet is set to stay following a successful six months trial.

The Midnight Expresso Youth Café, run by a partnership of Hart Youth Team, Churches Together and the Safer Hart Partnership, is based at the Point Youth Centre and runs from 8pm to midnight with a customer age range of 13-19.

The café gives young people a safe environment in which to enjoy each other’s company on a Friday night. Youths can relax on the sofas with drinks ranging from milk shakes to cappuccinos. A range of food is also on offer, including cakes and toasted sandwiches.

Charlotte Tickner, manager of the Point, says: “Midnight Express is a great example of successful partnership working locally to offer young people a safe, warm and welcoming environment, where they can hang out with their friends.

“It has proven the need for this sort of facility for young people and the team will now look at ways to develop and expand this idea around Hart.”
