CREW for Quetta Park
MINISTRY of Defence estates at Quetta and Humphrey Parks in Church Crookham are to stage the latest Crime Reduction and Environment Week organised by the Safer Hart Partnership (April 12-17).
The successful CREW events have been staged all over Hart district in recent times. Their aim is for the partnership members to concentrate on a small area of the district to improve both the environment and community spirit.
The first special event will be at the Quetta Park Community Police office on Tuesday April 13 (1-3pm) with a surgery enabling residents to talk to police and community safety officers.
On Thursday (15) there will be an estate clean up day starting at the Quetta Park Community (1pm) when residents will be able to help clear the estate of litter and rubbish.
A free skip will also be available from Monday to Friday in Humphrey Park.
Other events include a charity carwash in aid of the Gurkha Welfare Trust and a Best Kept Property competition with the winner getting £25 worth of garden vouchers. Anyone wishing to nominate a property should ring Richard Denham on 01252 774476 or email richard.denham @hart.gov.uk
A number of other activities will be ongoing throughout the week. It all culminates on Saturday (17) with a family fun day on the Quetta Park playing field.
This will include stalls from the police, Fire and Rescue and Hart Council. There will also be lots of fun activities such as face painting and a bouncy castle.
Cllr Nippy Singh, Cabinet Member for People and Partnerships commented: “CREW is always a fantastic opportunity for residents, partner agencies and the local authority to work together at improving our community.”
