Elvetham Heath –Views Sought
HART District Council is to quiz residents and visitors in an effort to make further improvements to the already popular Elvetham Heath local nature reserve.
A comprehensive questionnaire has been designed to gain further insight into the views of the local community and how the site is used.
The reserve gets a large number of visitors and it is within walking distance of everyone who lives on the estate. Hart believes that it provides a valuable educational resource for the whole community to include school and youth group events, guided walks and volunteering opportunities.
It features open space, access to nature and wildlife and opportunities for exercise and relaxation.
The questionnaire information will help to bring about improvements to the site. It is available online at www.hart.gov.uk and will be handed out to visitors at the nature reserve.
Tim Ackroyd, who is Hart’s Countryside Ranger for the Elvetham Heath nature reserve, says: “Elvetham Heath and surrounding green spaces are important not only for wildlife but for local people of all ages. This is an exciting opportunity to hear the views of the local community, which will help us to enhance their enjoyment of this precious local green space.”
