Ten Sports Challenge on Olympic Day
ON Saturday July 24 –exactly two years until the start of the London 2012 Olympic Games –Hart Leisure Centre in Fleet is staging a special open weekend sporting challenge.
The event will give people the chance to visit the centre in Hitches Lane and take part in ten different Olympic sport challenges free of charge.
The chosen sports are basketball. rowing, cycling, table tennis, badminton, running, archery, hockey, swimming and handball.
All events will be run with the help of local sports clubs and volunteers.
Said Cllr Sara Kinnell, Hart’s Cabinet member for Leisure and Recreation: “This event will help raise interest in London 2012 and give people the chance to try out some of the sports that will take place at the games”
Said David Love, Hart’s Sports and Leisure Manager: “It is an excellent opportunity for people who want to get into sport to meet local clubs and their coaches and to find out how they can continue with those sports after the event.”
