Pyestock plan – meeting set for March 19
A SPECIAL meeting of Hart District Council’s Planning committee is to be held in
Aldershot on Wednesday March 19 (7pm) to discuss the redevelopment proposals for the Pyestock North site (also known as Hartland Park).
Because of the massive local interest the council has booked the Princes Hall for the meeting. It will also have sound links to the two conference rooms downstairs –meaning that around 900 people can attend.
The developers have already appealed to the Government on grounds of non-determination and Hart has to state its position on the appeal by late March. The developers have already asked for a public inquiry.
The committee meeting will also be presented with recommendations on the latest full application for the site, which was lodged in December.
There will be a different structure to the debate than at ordinary Planning committee meetings.
Following a general introduction the debate will follow a topic based approach. Officers will introduce the topic, then the applicants will be allowed up to four minutes followed by a similar maximum time for objectors. There will be a final opportunity to address the committee for four minutes as a general conclusion. The committee will then debate the topic.
Six major topics are to be covered: development plan policies; traffic generation; noise and air quality; visual issues including the effect on the Strategic Gap between Fleet and Farnborough; ecological issues and employment issues.
