‘Think Safe’ Winners’ Fire Station Trip

SIX pupils from Hawley Primary School, who came out top amongst 500 Hart schoolchildren taking part in the district ‘Think Safe’ event in May, were rewarded with an exciting tour of Rushmoor Fire Station.
The youngsters, Christen Avent, Louise Penfold, Jessica Coughtrey, Jamie Sandison, Josh Crisp and Joe Price gained top scores for showing what they had learned during ‘Think Safe’, which was held at Runways End Scout Centre in Aldershot.
At the fire station they were able to walk in the dark using only a thermal imaging camera and try on breathing apparatus as well as seeing how firefighters cut into vehicles.
Richard Denham, organiser of ‘Think Safe’ commented: “I am grateful to the firefighters for taking time out of their busy day to spend an enjoyable afternoon with the group.”
