Parish Polls set for May 27
THREE polls for election to parish councils in Hart will be held on Thursday May 27 because of the General Election and district elections both taking place on May 6.
IN the Pondtail ward for the new Fleet parish council seven candidates will be competing for four seats. Five nominees have no party affiliation –Stephen Coupland, Dai Pierce, Christine Randall, Bob Schofield and Sue Tilley. The field is completed by former Hart councillor Sue Fisher (LD) and Stuart Kruse standing as an Independent.
The brand new Ewshot council has six candidates standing for five seats – Gary Bredin, Jane Payne, Michael Sisk, Sue Vincent and Andrew Vodden have no party affiliation while Richey Brand stands as an Independent.
The third election will be in the Blackwater ward of Blackwater and Hawley parish. Three Liberal Democrats, Keith Clarke, Celia Hennell and Graham Keene are opposed by Lawrie Robertson for the three seats available.
All candidates for Hawley and Minley, Church Crookham East, Fleet Central, Calthorpe, Ancells, Courtmoor, Crondall, Long Sutton, South Warnborough, Greywell and Elvetham Heath have been returned unopposed.
