The Red Bays are Back!

FREE short stay parking returned to Fleet town centre car parks today (Monday) with the reappearance of a number of red bays.

A total of 24 bays have been created -12 of them in the Church Road car park and six each in Victoria Road and Gurkha Square.

Hart’s parking manager Geoff Hislop said: “The bays are easily identifiable because they are painted red. They allow free parking for a maximum of 30 minutes.”

The council’s Environment portfolio holder, Cllr Stephen Parker declared: “This is the fulfilment of a promise we made to the people of Fleet to restore free parking to Fleet town centre.

“This will be of benefit not to only to the shoppers of Fleet but to the shopkeepers as well.”
