Council Supports SPLAT Legal Challenge
Hart District Council has agreed to give financial support to the legal challenge being mounted by SPLAT against the Government’s decision on the Pyestock planning application.
The Council originally refused planning permission for the Pyestock development, and argued against permission being given at the subsequent appeal against that decision.
The Government’s appointed inspector who heard the appeal supported the Council’s line, but was overruled by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.
SPLAT have announced their intention of mounting a legal challenge to the Secretary of State’s decision, and Hart Cabinet last night agreed to give financial support of up to £10,000 to help SPLAT fight the case.
Council Leader Ken Crookes, moving the decision to give support, said “SPLAT have done a great job so far and we will do what we can to support their continuing challenge”.
