Crackdown on Fly Tipping Site
A RURAL site that had been ruined by fly tipping has been restored by its owners after the Planning Enforcement team at Hart District Council served a “tidy up notice” on them.
The area had become an eyesore as tippers had been visiting Farnham Lodge, Farnham Road, Odiham at night and dumping large amounts of rubbish including roofing felt, rubble, fencing panels, household waste, gardening equipment and plastics.
The site, which adjoins open countryside, contained an empty bungalow in poor condition and this is also now being restored.
Meanwhile the owners have also demolished two tumbledown outbuildings and removed them from the scene.
Robert Jackson, interim Development Services Manager at Hart commented: “This shows that the council will take action to require owners of land to tidy up areas which have become eyesores.”
