CREW hits Fleet
THE successful Crime Reduction and Environment Weeks run by the ‘Safer Hart’ partnership will reach Fleet for the first time on January 18 and 19.
The CREW events have taken place regularly throughout the district over the past 18 months and this one in the Hart Centre is seen as a showcase for the whole district.
“The Hart shopping centre is ideal for this time of the year as we do not have to worry about the weather,” said PC Lou Gidley, community services liaison officer, who organises them.
A variety of stalls will be housed in the shopping centre on both days. Visitors will be able to talk to ‘Safer Hart’ representatives including the police, councillors, Sentinel Housing Association, anti-social behaviour officers and the fire service.
Representatives from most Hart District Council departments, including community safety, will be available to provide information and advice. There will also be a number of competitions for both children and adults.
Special forms will be available for visitors from all parts of the district to make comments or complaints.
“This is a showcase to give all of our partners the opportunity to show the public what they do and what they can achieve,” said PC Gidley.
The ‘Safer Hart’ partnership includes Hart District Council, Yateley Town Council, police, fire and probation services and Sentinel.
