Squirrels’ New Drey –The Harlington Centre
THE much loved Squirrels Community Pre-School is about to move to a new home in Fleet’s Harlington Centre on Fleet Road. The group has met at All Saints Church Hall in Fleet for more than 20 years.
Elaine Major, supervisor of Squirrels, is pleased with the move, which happens on Monday September 7.
She said: “Squirrels are really excited at the prospect. We have been an extremely successful community pre-school for 36 years and we feel that the move into a community building in the heart of Fleet will enable us to grow even more. We shall be able to work with all of the other children’s groups who use the facilities.”

In order to accommodate the new residents Len Tyler’s Music School, which has been providing music classes for youngsters at the Harlington Centre for the last 15 years, will move to the function room on the ground floor.
Early childhood music specialist Len was delighted with the move which he said made “such good sense.”
Elaine said there had been quite a lot of anxiety from both staff and parents about jobs and continuity.
“However, we now have a fantastic opportunity ahead to provide a large, safe and stimulating environment in which the children of Fleet and Church Crookham can flourish with the same friendly staff and ethos. We cannot wait to move in.”
Hart Chairman, Cllr Sharyn Wheale commented: “I’m thrilled that Squirrels are moving to the Harlington Centre as I’ve supported them for many years and I know they will be very happy in their new home.
“This is evidence of the increasingly important role of the Harlington Centre as a hub of Fleet community life.”
