Dead Animals
If an animal is reported dead on the public highway, Hart District Council will remove it for disposal. The largest animal that can be removed by a litter crew is a Deer. If the animal is larger than a Deer then special action needs to be taken to remove the animal.
If the dead animal reported is a domestic pet, it will be removed and taken to 'Dignity' on the Odiham Road, Winchfield 01252 844572. The animal will then be scanned for any tags or electronic ID chip. The owner will then be notified accordingly.
To report a dead animal or to make enquiries on a missing pet please contact our Street Cleansing Department on 01252 622122 or via email on enquiries@hart.gov.uk.
