Bulky Household Collections

The Council can collect bulky household refuse such as old furniture, fridges, freezers, cookers and carpets, but we cannot take garden waste or builders rubble, please take these items to the Hartley Wintney or Farnborough Household Waste Recycling Centres

Fees and Charges

Your Council can collect bulky household waste from your domestic property, the charges and details for this additional service are listed below.

Please note that we are unable to collect from inside your property for insurance purposes.  Please ensure all Items are out for collection before 6.30am on the agreed collection day.

Certain items may be charged as more than 1 Unit due to the size or weight, more details can be found below.  If your item is not covered by the following information then please contact us on 01252 622122

Charged as one Item – For example up to 4 fence panels, or up to 6 dining chairs

Charged as two items – For example a 3 piece suite or a bed and mattress

Charged as five items - A shed/green house (dismantled maximum size 3sqm) or a cast iron bath tub (broken up)

Rubbish in plastic sacks will be charged at the following rate:

A sack should weigh no more than 15kg

Cancellation Policy

Please note when booking a bulky waste collection that should you wish to cancel the collection more than 3 working days before collection date a £10 charge will be levied.  If the cancellation is less than 3 working days before collection date there will be a charge of £20 which will be deducted from your refund.

All customers are advised of this cancellation fee when booking.

Depending on where you live in HART will determine which day we can collect your items, the following table shows the collection day for your area

Please note that from the 2nd of July 2010 collections previously carried out on a Tuesday will move to Wednesday

All items should be left outside the property on the day of collection, you will be informed of the next available collection date when paying for the service.
