Refuse & Recycling Collections
Hart operates an alternate bin collection system with your refuse (black bin) collected one week and your recycling (blue bin) collected the following week
This change was introduced in October 2006 in order for Hart to:
- improve the efficiency and reliability of the service
- introduce a district-wide kerbside glass collection service
- meet Government recycling targets limiting potential increases on council tax bills by avoiding Government penalties
- simplify the collection system with more consistent collection days
- create a cleaner, greener environment by reducing the amount of non-recyclable waste that would otherwise be incinerated or landfilled
For more information on Alternate Bin Collection download a copy of the leaflets currently available, see downloads on the right of the screen or visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for more information
