Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)
| The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out the Council’s standards for consultation on the preparation of planning policies, and on planning applications. The Council’s aim is to encourage more people to get actively involved in the planning process. |
The first Hart SCI was adopted by the Council on 28 September 2006.
The Council consulted on a Revised SCI between 29 July and 7 October 2011 and it was formally adopted on 1 December 2011. The revised version principally reflects changes to the legislation relating to the preparation of local development plans.
We are particularly interested in engaging hard to reach groups; i.e. the young; the economically, learning or socially disadvantaged; people with disabilities; ethnic minorities or simply people who may not perceive the relevance of the planning system to their lives. Do make contact if you are interested, and any suggestions or comments on how such groups and individuals might become more involved are always welcomed.
