The Core Strategy DPD
The Core Strategy is a Development Plan Document and is the part of the Local Development Framework which sets out the fundamental direction for future development in the District. It will have regard to the Council’s Corporate Plan, the Community Strategy (2005-2016) and all International, National, Regional and County Planning Guidance. In particular it will be consistent with the Regional Spatial Strategy (South East Plan).
It sets the long-term strategic planning objectives for Hart and identifies the broad locations for delivering housing and other major development. All other documents produced will build on the principles it sets out. Specific issues will require more detailed policies being drafted through the Development Control Policies DPD, the Site Specific Allocations DPD and related Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs). These will set the basis against which individual planning applications will be assessed.
