Supporting documentation to accompany applications
In order to ensure that the Council and other interested parties such as statutory consultees and neighbours, have sufficient information to allow it to determine planning applications the Council, following consultation, has adopted various local planning application requirements, of information that has to be submitted prior to an application being registered.
The precise requirements depend on the type of application (Outline, Full, Advertisement, etc), the location (Conservation Area, Flood Plain, Etc) and the nature of the proposal are set out on this website.
A Design and Access Statement is also required with:
- Most non-householder applications for planning permission (Please note, this now includes a section on addressing sustainability and climate change);
- Householder applications in Conservation Areas, Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and National Parks;
- Applications for listed building consent.

There are three different documents, one for each bullet point above, reflecting the complexity which will be appropriate.
