Charitable organisations who are planning to hold a collection of money (or articles for sale or use). by means of visits from house to house (including business premises)
We ask that you provide a letter from the charity that you are collecting for that they authorise you to collect on their behalf.
If you are Home Office exempt we ask that you provide your registration number. For further information please contact The Home Office

Applications for house to house collections must be made by charitable organisations at least ONE month before the proposed date of the collection.

When and where can I hold a collection? (and how many can I have?)
Hart is divided into zones you can collect in, you can collect in one or a selection of zones, but only one collection per year within the whole of the Hart District.

We ask that you apply early to avoid disappointment, preference is given to Charities that hold Home Office exemption.
There is no charge for a House to House collection permit. However once a permit has been issued, you will need to apply to The Stationary Office for copies of the prescribed certificate of authority and prescribed badges (which you will need to supply to all your collectors).

After the collection has been held, please complete a form of statement, (available to download via the link on the right of this page) to be signed by an accountant, detailing the amount collected and any expenses incurred, must to be submitted to the Council within ONE month, of the collection date.
