Guide to Gaming Machines
Amusements with Prizes (AWP)

The occupier of premises in which gaming machines that provide monetary prizes are installed has to hold a permit issued by either the local authority or in the case of licensed premises, by the licensing justices. These machines are called amusements with prizes (AWP) machines. Permits can be issued at any time and last for at least three years. Video games are not included, and the permit relates to the premises NOT the applicant.

The fee is £32.00, however for all cash-machines the fee is £250.
