Pollution Control
Service Summary
As part of our pollution control service we deal with a wide range of pollution and nuisance issues, ranging from noisy neighbours through to house/car alarms, drainage issues through to smoke and odour. We authorise premises for pollution discharges, such as paint sprayers and waste oil burners.
We also monitor air quality throughout the district, using diffusion tubes and two continuous air quality monitoring stations. Contaminated land is a key project for the service and we are currently working towards implementing our contaminated land strategy.
Alarm Keyholder Register
Hampshire Constabulary currently provides a free scheme to register alarm key holder details for Hart residents and businesses.
The scheme is designed to apply to any domestic premise fitted with an audible intruder alarm (known as type B) and to any commercial premises with or without an audible alarm. Those premises whose alarms are linked directly to a m onitoring station (known as Type A) have their keyholders recorded by the monitoring company and so should not sign up to this scheme.
It is advisable that residents and businesses register their key holder details as it will provide a direct point of contact to Environmental Health and the Police in the event of a misfiring alarm. This will help prevent any unnecessary disturbance to neighbours and avoid unnecessary expense being incurred should the alarm need to be silenced in default.
