The Safe2eat scheme is now available in Hart
"Safe2eat" is a scheme that is designed to inform you about the standards of food hygiene in food premises across Hampshire.
You can now find details of the hygiene ratings of food premises within Hart, as well as for other local authorities across Hampshire, on the "safe2eat" website.
The hygiene ratings that you will find on the site, have been given following an inspection of the business from a local authority food inspector. The inspector will assess each food business using the Food Standards Agency 'Inspection Rating Scheme', as set out in their Code of Practice on Food Law.
The outcome of this assessment will determine whether a premise is:
|
| Unsatisfactory |
| Where there is non-compliance with food safety legislation, which increases the risk to health, and where it is likely to result in formal action being taken. An unsatisfactory rating does not mean that it is unsafe to eat food from the business. If the inspecting officer is satisfied that there is an imminent risk of injury from eating food from the business the Council will stop the business trading or the activity occurring. | |
|
| Satisfactory |
| Where there is generally good compliance with food safety legislation, but there maybe some minor matters of non-compliance. | |
|
| Excellent |
| Where there is full compliance with food safety legislation. | |
|
| Awaiting |
| Those premises that have recently opened or have changed ownership and are awaiting their first inspection. |
