e-Government
E-government plays a key role in helping local authorities to modernise the services that they provide – through the use of technology and modern business practises.
The Government's main target is:
- That by 2005, 100% of dealings with Government should be capable of being delivered electronically, where there is a demand.
The Implementing Electronic Government (IEG) Statements give a good overview of all of the Council’s E-government projects to date, implementation schedule and anticipated costs.
The Strategy and statements are available in the downloads area to the right.
If you would like to know more about the National Strategy for local e-Government, visit the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister's website at www.localegov.gov.uk.
