The Council licences privately owned caravan sites and will give advice and investigate complaints.

The Council is responsible for the provision of off-street parking and currently operates car parks at Church Road, Victoria Road and Gurkha Square, Fleet; Blackwater; Reading Road, Hook; Palace Gate and The Bury, Odiham and at Hartley Wintney. On Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays only, the car parks at the Civic Offices, Admiral House and Flagship House are also available to the public.

Charity Relief
80% rate relief is granted as of right to any organisation that has charitable status, provided that the property is occupied for the purposes of the Charity. The Council also has the discretion to grant up to 100% discretionary relief to certain other non-profit making organisations.

The Council sometimes has to make a compulsory purchase order for the acquisition of land or buildings.

The Council can help tenants who live in bedsits, flats or shared accommodation by requiring landlords to undertake necessary repairs and improve amenities. Parking Permits (Residents) There are currently residents parking schemes in operation for several roads in Fleet and Hartley Wintney. Hart issues residents permits on behalf of Hampshire County Council for a period of 12 months. A variety of visitors’ permits are also available for shorter periods.
