What Do I Do If I Receive A Penalty Charge Notice?
If you receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) - do not ignore it. You may have to pay an extra penalty if you do not pay, or challenge, the notice on time. Payment must be made within 28 days of the issue of the PCN. To qualify for a discount, the Council must receive payment within 14 days.
All of these details are shown on the back of the PCN.
The PCN also shows:
The PCN number,
- Your vehicle registration number and make,
- The location,
- What you have done wrong,
- The date, and
- The time.
Parking attendants can not accept payments, nor do they have the authority to cancel the Notice once it has been issued.
