What Happens If I Make A Challenge?
If you make a challenge, your challenge will be considered and as a result it may be upheld and the PCN cancelled, or rejected and remain payable.
If a challenge is received within 14 days of issue of the PCN, the discount period will be frozen pending the Council's decision. Should the challenge be rejected the discount period will restart from the date of the Notice of Rejection.
If a challenge is received more than 14 days from the issue of the PCN the full amount of £70 or £50 is payable in the event of the challenge being rejected.
The Traffic Penalty Tribunal Service website gives information about the Penalty Charge enforcement process and also has very useful guide as to how to avoid receiving a PCN in the first instance.
