Disabled Facilities Grants

Disabled Facilities Grants are available in approved cases to help disabled people who need special adaptations to their home. Frequently funded works include flush floor shower rooms, ground floor bedrooms, stair-lifts, kitchen adaptations and ramps to and from the dwelling. These grants are means tested and are available to owner-occupiers, tenants and landlords including social landlords.

The council will require a referral from an Occupational Therapist from Social Services before a grant application can be processed.

What is the Home Trust Loan?

The Home Trust Loan is a unique, low cost, home improvement service and lending scheme.

There are three borrowing options tailored to suit your circumstances. Whichever one you choose, you can be assured of:

A low interest rate of 5.49% (5.63% APR).

• A fixed rate of interest, guaranteed for the full term of the loan.
• The option to make overpayments or settle the loan in full without penalty.

What's more, the scheme provides you with all the support and guidance you need to see the home improvement process through from start to finish.

• We offer the support of a dedicated Home Trust Loan Officer, who is able to visit you in your home.
• Advice on how to choose a reputable contractor.
• Once the work is finished, a final inspection can be arranged to ensure the works have been completed to a satisfactory standard.

Who is the Home Trust Loan For?

We have specifically designed this loan for home owners whose properties need repairs or maintenance, but who do not have the funds available to carry out the work or who are finding it difficult to access the financial assistance.

What can the loan be used for?

The Home Trust Loan is available for those who need improvement works to be carried out to their properties.
Maybe:

• You have a leaking roof.
• Your boiler has broken.
• Your front door needs replacing.
• Your windows are draughty.
• You don't have adequate heating and need a central heating system installed.
