Appealing Against Our Decision
The amount of Housing Benefit we can pay you is based on the information and evidence that you have provided with your application form. Once it is processed, a decision letter is sent to you explaining how much benefit we can pay you and how it has been worked out.
If you disagree with our decision you can write and ask us to look at it again. You must do this within one month of the date of the decision letter. You need to explain why you think our decision is wrong and send any extra information that you think might be useful.
If you are not happy with the outcome of our reconsideration you can appeal to Independent Appeal Services, which is independent of the council.
