Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders
A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) can be made by the Council when it is necessary to prohibit or control vehicular and / or pedestrian traffic along a highway because of planned works on or near the road; because of the likelihood of danger to the public or damage to the road or for litter clearing and street cleansing purposes.
TTROs are normally used to allow essential or emergency works to be carried out on the highway. Examples of TTROs include:
- Road closures
- Prohibitions of waiting
- Speed limits
