Roads, Highways & Pavements
At Hart we carry out a number of duties, some of them on behalf of Hampshire County Council, such as maintaining Street Nameplates and co-ordinating the maintenance of bus shelters with Adshel. Some shelters may not be covered by this and are looked after by the local Parish Council.
We also process Hampshire County Council’s temporary road closures when they and other utility companies have lengths of streets closed for essential work. Road closures for events such as the Fleet Carnival and Fleet Half Marathon (to name but two) are also dealt with by Hart.
Hart District Council carries out minor traffic management works, mainly waiting restrictions and we also use speed indicator devices to educate drivers who exceed the marked speed limits.
