Guided Walks & Activities
Hart District Council’s Countryside Service runs a variety of walks and activities throughout the year at various sites within the district. Whether you are interested in wildlife, conservation and your local countryside or maybe you just need an excuse to get outdoors, you will find something for you and your friends and family to enjoy.
All walks are weather dependent and may be altered at short notice. Please note that the walks are due to begin at the times advertised so please arrive a couple of minutes early to avoid disappointment.

Where: Fleet Pond and Odiham common
When: Friday 4th September (FP), Saturday 12th September (FP), Sunday 13th September 7-9pm
Going a bit batty being stuck indoors? Join Hart's countryside rangers on a stroll around Fleet Pond and Odiham Common. We will be using bat detectors in the nature reserves at night! Find out all about these fascinating flying mammals and other nocturnal creatures that only become active after dusk.
£3.50 Per Person
Where: Elvetham Heath and Odiham Common
When: Sunday the 11th October 10-12pm, Sunday 18th October 10-12pm
Come for a walk around the majestic Odiham Common or Elvetham Heath. This is a beginners walk where you will be introduced to the life cycle of fungi and learn how it benefits the environment. together you will identify fungi species.

Where: Fleet Pond
When: Friday 30th October 4.30pm-6.30pm
Come wearing your scariest costume and together we will carve a pumpkin before daring to venture around the eerie Fleet Pond. We dare you to complete our challenge....I wonder just what you will find?
£5 Per Child
Where: Elvetham Heath
When: Thursday 10th December 5pm-7pm
Join the Hart rangers for a stroll through Elvetham Heath. We will meet as it is getting dark by the community pond to form a chain of lights. After the 30-40 minute stroll the Church on the Heath will lead a short carol singing session to finish off the evening.
Warm up your fingers afterwards with a hot drink and cake which will be availble to purchase from the Church on the Heaths coffee shop afterwards.
Booking essential, some lamps provided but please bring your own lanterns if possible. Parking is free at the Elvetham Heath Community Centre.
